Sustainability
Climate change affects the availability of water supplies and results in changes to wetlands, vegetation and fauna habitat, sea water levels and the effect of storm surges.
Strategen incorporates approaches to account for future climate change in all relevant projects including the impact of change and advice on how to adapt to such change.
Strategen has expert staff, and can call on its alliance partners to outline the implications of such change, and is able to provide advice on adaptation strategies.
Strategen recognises that climate change is a profound aspect of sustainability, natural resource management and resource conservation, and provides advice accordingly.
Strategen was lead consultant on the South West Yarragadee sustainability assessment, which was the most comprehensive evaluation undertaken in Western Australia. The project has provided valuable guidance on the further implementation of the State Sustainability Strategy.
Strategen provides consultancy services for the sustainable management of natural resources (land, water, marine and biological systems). Natural resource management is a holistic environmental management approach based on a number of environmental principles to ensure sustainability. This area of consultancy draws on different fields of environmental expertise to examine the constraints and opportunities of development and primary production over a particular geographical area. Natural resource management also involves the implementation of management programs to facilitate 'triple bottom line' reporting (ie. social, environmental and economic sustainability). Today, triple bottom line reporting is recognised as a pivotal component of company structure as it seeks to ensure sustainability in 'people', 'planet' and 'profit'.
Strategen can provide the following services in the field of natural resource management:
