Water Resource Assessment and Management
Water is essential both to our way of life in Australia, and our health as a nation and community. Managing water resources and water-dependent ecosystems is essential to meet these objectives.
With extensive experience in both Government water planning and industry water requirements, our consultants can assist you in a vast array of capacities including:
- water allocation and licensing
- water resource development policy
- impact of climate change
- water quality
- water use efficiency
- water resource assessment
- water management plans
- hydrological investigation
- ecological water requirements
- environmental water provisions.
Strategen prepares strategic water management plans and policies for industry and for source development proposals. We project manage water source investigations, and develop erosion, floodplain, stormwater, drainage, surface and groundwater management plans to suit your needs.
Our projects have included the South West Yarragadee sustainability assessment, Millstream Water Management Plan, Collie Basin Water Management Strategy, and the Kwinana Desalination, Gnangara Mound and Samson Brook pipehead dam environmental reviews.
Strategen also determines ecological water requirements and environmental water provisions for groundwater and surface water resources. Some of our major projects have included the Harvey Basin Allocation Plan and the determination of environmental water provisions for the Lower Collie River, Henty Brook and Collie River South Branch Pools.
Small Water Supply System Audits
Strategen also has expertise and capability in auditing the operation and management of small water supply systems regarding their compliance with the NH&MRC Australian Drinking Water Guidelines, and Department of Health guidances, in terms of ensuring a safe and healthy drinking water supply. This issue is becoming increasingly important for mining and other projects in remote locations where the project owner is responsible for the provision of an on-site drinking water supply.
