Strategen ecology team in the outback

Removing complexity to make growth and development happen.

Absolutely love the smiling faces in this photo! During their recent trip to the Agrimin Lake Mackay Sulphate of Potash (SOP) Project, the Strategen Ecology team – Laura Stevens, Dr Ron Firth, Megan Stone and Amy Dalton worked closely with the IPA Rangers from the community of Kiwirrkurra.

The Botanists showed the Rangers how to survey for flora species including species of Tecticornia and Goodenia, while the Zoologists were grateful for help digging in pitfall traps in the blistering heat and tips on how to track fauna.

Zecharia Spencer, Mary Butler, Nolia Napangarti Ward, Yalti Napangarti and Kate Crossing shared their bush skills, knowledge and language in the search for conservation significant species and gave the team a truly unique experience.

The Ecology team very much enjoyed coming together with the Rangers to share knowledge and learn new skills. We look forward to working together again!
