05 Feb Strategen welcomes international EIA and infrastructure expert to the team
Removing complexity to make growth and development happen.
Strategen is pleased to increase its expertise in Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and infrastructure with the appointment of Associate Matthew Jones.
Matthew has a long and decorated career in environmental management planning, with extensive experience specifically across major infrastructure projects related to water resources, transit/transportation, commercial development and natural resource management. Having spent the last 17 years living and working in the USA, Matthew worked on some of California’s largest infrastructure projects that included:
• Silicon Valley Rapid Transit project – a 26km, six-station extension of the existing San Francisco Bay Area Rapid Transit District (BART) system into Silicon Valley. Matthew was involved in the project on a number of levels that included being the State/Federal environmental approvals lead, technical director for biological assessments and manager of the environmental compliance and auditing of the project.
• California high-speed train from San Jose to Merced expansion planning. Forecast to carry more than 100 million passengers per year by 2030, Matthew led the biodiversity approvals team and assisted the California High-Speed Rail Authority project management team on the US Federal alternatives analysis, to define the least environmentally damaging practicable alternative as required under US law.
Welcome to the team Matthew!
